Jagdpanzer IV L 70 Base WIP 2

After that the mixture of earth and stones from modeling is dry I started to color the ground. For the first pass I used the Matt Khaki 26 Humbrol diluted to 30% and then the color is dry a second passage with Matt Chocolate 98 Humbrol always diluted to 30%.This operation was performed with the brush so that the color  is not too homogeneous as if it were a heavy wash so obtaining a good three-dimensional effect.I later placed at the sides of the ground  the pieces of root of Geranium (this spring when I removed from the vessels the roots dead of this flower I realized that they were very useful to simulate branches and shrubs in scale) to simulate the fallen branches often present in areas near the woods.

The next step was to carry out dry grass typical of winter months and to obtain a good result I used hemp by hydraulic  cut into pieces about approximately one centimeter long.I also added a small part of dried seaweed obtained from small fibrous spheres which are located along the beaches  and I mixed it all.

I glued the dry grass in areas where there are no signs of the tracks using a mixture of glue and water in equal portions and I placed other small shrubs made from dried roots found almost everywhere in the meadows. When everything is dry I run a light wash with raw umber oil on the ground and even on the dry grass. This wash serves always to give more three-dimensionality to the entire surface.
